The Bulldog is kind and resolute. They are courageous, but not vicious or aggressive. Bulldogs are generally docile and tractable. With their dignified manner, they are among the most gentle of dogs.
Bulldogs were bred to drive cattle to the market as well as compete in a long-gone sport known as “bullbaiting”. Today, Bulldogs are gentle creatures. They love to be around people. They don’t require much exercise – they prefer to lounge around all day. And while they love children, they don’t like to play much.
Bulldogs can be lazy and stubborn, so training can be a bit difficult. Sometimes they don’t even like to go on walks! They are also known for their snoring and snorting while sleeping. They are definitely house dogs, too, preferring to hang out inside rather than outside.
They are kind and affectionate but can be courageous and stubborn. They can be very persistent, especially in seeking out attention. They have a calm personality and absolutely love people. They can be protective of their family and would like nothing more than to be around their owners at all times.
Major Health Concerns: Bulldogs may suffer from allergies and breathing problems. They often have poor eyesight. They are susceptible to extremes in temperature, and should be monitored closely.
