Professor David Westerway is our scientific director and ensures that International Biosciences is at the forefront of technical proficiency, and that our systems and procedures are of the highest standard.

David is a molecular biologist, he obtained a first-class degree in Biochemistry from the University of Sussex, England (1977) and a PhD in molecular genetics in 1980, at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School (Imperial College of Science and Technology) University of London. Subsequent to training with two Nobel Prize winners at the University of California San Francisco, Dr. Westerway moved to the University of Toronto in 1994, where he rose to the rank of Full Professor in 2004. Dr. Westerway has won awards from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Government of Ontario and the Alzheimer's Association USA for his work on genetic models of human disorders.
